Riwal & Shell working together to create a greener fleet

Riwal, the aerial work platform and telehandler rental specialist, is switching to Shell GTL Fuel in The Netherlands. This initiative is in line with Riwal's strategy to provide customers more sustainable ways of working at height. Shell GTL Fuel (gas-to-liquids) is made from natural gas and therefore burns cleaner than conventional diesel. This results in a reduction of emissions of particulate matter, sulfur and nitrogen oxides. Furthermore the fuel is odorless, quieter and biodegradable.

With Shell GTL Fuel, Riwal is contributing to the improvement of local air quality and the well-being of employees and their working environment. In cooperation with Shell, all Riwal diesel-powered equipment in the Netherlands will be provided with this alternative fuel. In addition to the already existing sustainable solutions in the fleet, such as the 100% electric and hybrid driven equipment, Riwal strives to make all machines more environmentally friendly.

To provide the best customer experience Riwal can also offer this alternative fuel on the customer’s site. In this way it offers its customers the opportunity to provide their employees a cleaner working environment.

Johan van Klinken, Country Manager at Riwal Benelux, comments: "With this alternative fuel, Riwal is contributing to a healthier working environment. We believe in this product and we would like all our customers to benefit from it. Our ultimate goal is to offer our customers the 'greenest' access fleet in the Netherlands."

"We are very proud of the cooperation with Riwal and their step towards a more sustainable future together with Shell GTL Fuel", says Martijn van Winsen, Account Manager at Shell Fleet Solutions.
