Robotic functionality added to Sokkia DX total station

Capelle a/d IJssel, THE NETHERLANDS. – 17th October, 2013 – Sokkia Corporation announces a new robotic total station, DX-105AC+, designed to provide a feature-packed solution for one-person operations.   Robotic functionality is also now available for standard model DX total stations through an auto tracking firmware upgrade.

“The DX robotic solution sets the standard for design, performance and price at the entry level of the robotic total station market,” said Leighton Davies, TEP business manager survey products.

The new DX Auto Tracking Kit comes on a USB memory stick and can be installed on any standard DX unit. “The upgrade can be made easily at any time–a unique, and ideal solution if you have not used robotic total stations, but wish to make the switch,” Davies said.

“Add a 360-degree prism and MESA data controller with MAGNET™ v2.0 and you have the perfect entry-level robotic package,” Davies said.

The DX total station series features long-range Bluetooth® communications, class-leading tracking performance and an easy-guide light system for prism reacquisition.  Additionally, the series includes Direct Aiming™ auto-collimation technology, TSshield™ advanced security and maintenance technology and MAGNET™ integrated software.

Davies said, “The DX comes with Sokkia’s patented RED-Tech reflectorless measurement system and advanced angle measurement system, both industry-leading technologies.”
