ROLLS-ROYCE SUPPLIES MTU ENGINES TO RUSSIAN AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY MANUFACTURER ROSTSELMASH

  • 400 engines for RSM 1401 forage-harvesters and Torum 780 combine harvesters

  • Order results from strategic partnership with Rostselmash

Rolls-Royce has received an order from the Russian agricultural machinery manufacturer Rostselmash to supply 400 MTU engines. The 6R 460 in-line engines, which are based on Mercedes Benz models, generate between 295 and 375 kW and will be used in RSM 1401 forage-harvesters and Torum 780 combine-harvesters, which are going into series production next year. These engines are set to be delivered during 2015. Rostselmash sells its products in 26 countries. The MTU brand is part of Rolls-Royce Power Systems within the Land & Sea division of Rolls-Royce.

This order has arisen from the strategic partnership forged by MTU and Rostselmash in November 2013. In the coming years, Rostselmash intends to equip up to 3000 vehicles per year with MTU engines.

Rostselmash is the biggest agricultural machinery manufacturer in Russia and Eastern Europe. The company was founded in 1929 in Rostov-on-Don and has production sites in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, US and Canada. Rostselmash produces 17 different agricultural vehicles with over 100 models and variations including forage harvesters, combine harvesters, fodder harvesters and balers.
