Sandvik Ballygawley plant receives £1.6 million investment

As part of the continuing improvement to our world leading range of Mobile Crushers and Screens, we have recently invested £1.6 million in a new powder coating facility. The new plant will provide benefits for our customers due to improved edge machine protection and increased resistance to corrosion, as well as reducing waste emissions.

The Sandvik factory located in Ballygawley, Northern Ireland, is known as one of the world's premier manufacturing facilities for mobile crushers and screens. This has enabled customers throughout the world to benefit from our materials' and production expertise.

As part of continuing commitment to improving the quality of equipment, we have recently invested £1.6 million in a new powder coating facility at the Ballygawley factory. The new facility will enable the mobile crushers and screens manufacturing process to benefit from reduced assembly times using the "Kanban" manufacturing philosophy, as well as producing other operating synergies.

The real beneficiaries of the investment will be the customers who use the state of the art equipment. The new facility will provide improved edge protection for the equipment, as well as further maximising customer investment through enhancing resistance to corrosion.

As well as producing improved equipment safety and longevity for customers, the new powder coat plant will also make a substantial contribution to improved environmental, health and safety during manufacturing. This will be achieved through an automated process, improved material utilisation, atmosphere protection and no requirement for hazardous waste disposal.
The new powder coat facility became operational on the 27th July and has already contributed to the improved performance of the Ballygawley factory benefitting customers world-wide.
