SCHWAB and MiDi Cranes officialize partnership

With the presentation at the DACH+HOLZ trade fair in Stuttgart, the German company SCHWAB GmbH started selling the Spanish MiDi trailer cranes of the 3.5t LT series in 2020. The sale of the compact self-erecting cranes has developed into a success story and confirms the high demand. SCHWAB is now driving the expansion of a dealer network. Sales are implemented and centrally controlled at the SCHWAB headquarters in Dettenheim.

The SCHWAB crane range mainly includes large top and bottom slewing cranes from Potain with jibs of up to 75m. The addition of the small, quick-assembly trailer cranes completes the SCHWAB product portfolio. Construction site operators on maintenance work, roofing and woodwork, repairs, minor construction work and renovations are also specifically focused now.

The MiDi LT series integrates power and capacity in a compact crane that can also be set up in areas with limited accessibility. With a horizontal boom, it reaches a height of 10 to 14 m, when the boom is tilted it reaches up to 20.3 m and can lift a maximum load of 1,500 kg. The crane is designed in such a way that, together with the approved chassis (RD-Road), it does not exceed the trailer load of 3,500 kg. It can therefore be moved on conventional country roads by a light vehicle (class B + E) with a permissible trailer load of up to 3,500 kg! Depending on the model, there is also the XP-Express option, with which no separate ballast transport is necessary for the full load.

The crane can be set up very quickly. Supported by the hydraulic construction of the tower and boom by radio remote control, one person only needs about 12 minutes for this.

“MiDi cranes are a perfect addition to our range. They are innovative and of a very high quality. They are extremely interesting for roofers, plumbers, carpenters, etc., but also for building contractors, especially in a direct price-performance comparison with providers from the trailer crane segment! We therefore see a strong growth trend for the following years,” reports Lars Holzhey, managing director at Schwab. "The constant expansion of the sales and service network is an important aspect for us."

“With SCHWAB, MiDi Cranes is represented in the D-A-CH region with a strong partner. With this sales channel we expect an additional potential of around 150 cranes annually in a few years”, says Deputy General Manager Miguel Marin of MiDi Cranes.
