Scotplant 22nd – 23rd April: a BIG thank you from Sandvik!

Scotplant is now over, but what a great show it has been. We took the opportunity this year to highlight a selection of best-selling models from our mobile crushing and screening range. At the show, which was held in Edinburgh from the 22nd – 23rd April 2016, we welcomed visitors to our stand at what has now become Scotland's leading construction equipment exhibition.

Scotplant 2016 was the perfect occasion for us to meet with our existing and future customers in Scotland and the surrounding area. The show enabled us to deal with their requirements in a more relaxed atmosphere, as well as show examples from our mobile crushing and screening range. In fact the show was such a great show case for our equipment that Martin McLinden from Newtown Skips, purchased the company's first ever Sandvik machine, a QE341 scalper.

Our Mobile range has been developed with customers' requirements in mind. Whatever their application, we have equipment with features that ensure maximum levels of productivity, with the lowest levels of cost and environmental impact. In order to highlight the flexibility and productivity of the range the models shown consisted of:

  • QH331 Hydrocone crusher

  • QJ341 Jaw Crusher

  • QJ241 Jaw Crusher

  • QE341 Scalper

One of the showcased machines at this year's Scotplant was the QE341 tracked scalper, which has been developed with easier setup, operation and maintenance to the fore. It features an easy to operate electrical control system, which incorporates a number of features to improve both the operational effectiveness and machine safety.

The control simple system has colour-coded numerical push buttons and a visual display unit. This enables the operator to view engine and plant status. Prestart warnings on all plant functions and an auto start/stop facility together with a three mode selector function - setup, operation and tracking facility - all ensure that safety, as well as ease of operation, are paramount at all times.

With full radio controlled as standard, the QE341 is the ideal piece of equipment for contractors requiring the need to travel quickly from site-to-site. Its possesses hydraulically folding tail and side conveyors, and now has a rigid one-piece hopper designed for quicker set-up times and revised tail drum ground clearance for onsite tracking.

Other key customer focused benefits include:

  • Wear resistant steel apron feeder as standard for maximum durability and performance

  • Heavy duty screenbox with unique high throw and aggressive action

  • Hydraulically folding maintenance platforms for ease of service and maintenance

  • Massive stockpiling capability with over-wide conveyors to maximise delivery

  • Can be configured for 3-way or 2-way split operation

These and other features are aimed at ensuring the QE341 is as user and environmentally focused as it is productive, efficient and versatile. We are sure that Newton Skips will find the QE341 to be the ideal piece of equipment for the company's requirements.

We'd like to thank all the visitors who came to our stand – it really was great to meet everyone. It is your support and encouragement that makes all our efforts worthwhile. We can't wait until the next Scotplant in 2017 and hopefully we'll see you then or maybe before!
