Scott Equipment Takes Delivery of 1000th GR-1000XL Rough Terrain Crane

July 15, 2015 was a great day for Tadano America. Having completed its journey from the Tadano plant in Shido, the 1000th GR-1000XL rough terrain crane was presented to the management of Scott Equipment Company. Scott Cummins, the President of Scott Equipment, traveled from Louisiana with his wife Pamela to join the celebration. Curley Bordelon, who serves as Executive Vice President was also there along with his wife Bobbie Bordelon (Executive Vice President and CFO), and Roger Rivera (the Baytown, TX store manager).

The day was a typically hot one for Houston in the summer, but TAC employees were in good cheer with everyone wearing matching blue button down shirts to welcome the arrival of this special crane and our special guests. Yo Kakinuma, the President of Tadano America, opened up the event with a few words. “We overcame supply issues with a ‘One Tadano’ spirit. Now we’re presenting the 1000th unit to our best customer, Scott Equipment.”

Tadashi Suzuki, Tadano’s Executive Vice President, represented Tadano Ltd. at this important event. He arrived straight from the airport to say a few words to the gathered audience. “Several weeks ago we had a big ceremony in Japan to commemorate this crane. Now, as a reliable Tadano partner and our most important customer in the North American region, Scott Equipment is the recipient of this special order. Thanks to support from customers like this, we now enjoy a very significant market share worldwide for cranes in the 100 ton class. I would especially like to pay my respect to Scott Equipment’s management and wisdom as they have promoted the use of rough terrain cranes in this region.”

Following the presentation of the GR-1000XL’s keys and a commemorative plaque, TAC hosted a barbeque luncheon for all the guests. Scott Cummins reported that the company was eagerly anticipating transport of the new crane as it was slated to begin work immediately in Baytown, TX.
