SDLG demonstrates strength in depth of product line at bauma China 2014

SDLG displayed units from across its product categories in a 27 machine line up at China’s largest construction equipment trade fair. Included on the 3,000 m2 booth were two high capacity concept machines plus a number of best-selling units. The bauma China 2014 event is taking place November 25 through 28, at the Shanghai International Expo Center.

With 2014 marking its seventh occurrence, bauma China is now firmly established as the largest and most prestigious trade show of its kind in China. It attracts equipment users from the agroforestry, construction and infrastructure, energy, quarrying and mining industries, with visitors coming from across China and many international markets. Some 3,000 exhibitors were registered at this year’s bauma China, and prominent among them was Shandong Lingong Construction Machinery Co., Ltd (known as Lingong), which showcased 27 of its SDLG-branded machines on a 3,000 m2 booth (G60) - one of the largest exhibits at the event.

Best known for its range of wheel loaders, for which it is one of the world’s largest producers, SDLG also manufactures a full range of other equipment including excavators, backhoe loaders, road machinery and compact equipment. The company used bauma China to highlight the success of its current product line and hint at what might lie ahead with the inclusion of two notable prototypes on the booth, the L9120F wheel loader and the LG6460E excavator.

SDLG also used this year’s bauma China as an occasion to meet with its global distribution network, staging a conference for over 100 dealer delegates during the show. There was also a gala dinner for customers, the launch of a new brand for the company’s customer service operation and the celebration of several company highlights in 2014. These include SDLG’s sponsorship of the AFC Champions League (the premier club football competition for Asia and the Middle East) and the continuing success of its China Top Driver competition, which encourages more young people to join the construction industry and develops the skills of those operating equipment.

Senior leadership from SDLG were present throughout bauma China 2014 including executive president, Yu Mengsheng, who commented.

“Our customers trust SDLG branded machines because of the consistently reliable performance and a fast return of investment they receive,” he said. “Here at bauma China we wanted to show them the true strength of our product line-up, and a vision into future generations of SDLG machinery. From our headquarters in Linyi, China, we create machinery that brings new levels of reliability, performance and value to our customers by incorporating world-class design and manufacturing techniques. To achieve our goal of becoming China’s leading producer of construction equipment, we must continue to strengthen our heritage of product development and innovation which is the backbone of the SDLG brand.”

The two prototype SDLG machines on display were notable for their breakthroughs in both the size and the technology, and together they were given center stage on the company’s huge booth. Both were developed with input from the company’s R&D facility in Linyi and its shared technology center in Jinan. The wheel loader concept machine, the L9120F, is a 6 m3 unit with an operating weight of 36 t. It features a high-torque engine designed to Stage III standards with lower CO2 emissions, a hydro-shift transmission, 260 kN of breakout force, and a new ergonomically designed cab.

The LG6460E, meanwhile, has an operating weight of 44.5 t and like the L9120F has a new high-torque engine designed to Stage III standards. With a wider chassis offering stronger stability and an impressive 2.1 m3 bucket capacity, the new excavator will be suitable for a range of applications, particularly heavy duty work in mining and quarrying sites. The dual pump hydraulic system from Kawasaki offers better work efficiency and also saves energy.
