Shinui Petra shows off its Manitowoc crawler cranes

Shinui Petra, one of South Korea’s largest rental construction equipment companies, hosted a highly successful event to showcase its range of Manitowoc crawler cranes. The cranes on display included the Manitowoc 8500-1, 11000-1 and 12000-1. All were shown at the company’s Yongin facility.

Approximately 200 customers attended the event to discuss both sales and rental opportunities for the Manitowoc crawler cranes. The show’s busy itinerary included a guided tour of each crane, machine demonstrations, a customer lunch, the opportunity to operate the cranes and a Q&A session with crane experts.

Choi Byung Eun, president and CEO of Shinui Petra, was delighted with the event turnout. To date, the company has sold nine units and has secured contracts for six additional cranes to be delivered. It has also received a further 300 enquiries, making the event a real success.

“In Korea, 90% of the crawler crane market spans units that are over 10 years old, so we saw an opportunity to bring in new, high-quality, and low-emission cranes,” said Choi. “The sturdy design and proven reliability of these Manitowoc crawler cranes make them suitable for a wide range of applications. They are equipped with a wide crawler stance, a free-fall winch, and self-rigging counterweight assembly as a basic option, so they have clear advantages over their competitors. The strong brand image established by Manitowoc’s larger crawler cranes is also reflected in the quality and features of these new models.”

Shinui Petra is one of Manitowoc’s biggest customers in South Korea.

“Manitowoc crawler cranes have been operating in South Korea for decades and we are delighted to have built such a strong relationship with Shinui Petra,” said John Stewart, Manitowoc senior vice president, sales and marketing APAC. “The successful turnout of this event is a testament to Shinui Petra’s impressive set-up and we wish the company continued success in the future.”

Manitowoc’s 8500-1 crawler crane has an 80 t capacity, while the 11000-1 model has a 100 t capacity – both cranes support a 61 m heavy-lift boom. The 12000-1 has a 110 t capacity and 71 m boom. The cranes’ strong lifting charts and solid build make them ideal for the region’s congested yet demanding job sites. The Manitowoc crawler cranes will be used as service cranes in foundation work and as general-purpose cranes with construction companies, as well as for tower crane installation.
