LECTURA Press, represented by Darja Kočárová, spoke with Riccardo Vincenzi, Communication Specialist at SIMEX, about the company’s presence at Italy’s leading construction and earthmoving trade fair. Riccardo outlined SIMEX’s award-winning D-BLADE 200 saw, which received recognition in the Attachment category for bringing diamond blade cutting technology to skid steers. Other topics included the growing importance of safety in attachment development, customer feedback from international markets, and SIMEX’s ambitions to expand its technology beyond Italy, particularly in the United States and the Middle East.

Darja Kočárová: We met on the second day of the SaMoTer trade show. What are your impressions of this year’s event so far?

Riccardo Vincenzi: SaMoTer is the main Italian trade fair for construction and earthmoving equipment.

We need to be there, as the attachments we produce are increasingly used around the world. All machine producers, manufacturers, and major brands are asking for more attachments to be provided to their customers. So, this is one of the main reasons.

The other reason is that it’s the fair season. In Italy, there is no other fair like SaMoTer. Compared to the last edition, I think this one is more innovation-oriented, and there is also higher participation — at least in my opinion based on the first few days here.

DK: That sounds great. Let us get back to this year’s trade show and talk specifically about innovations. You won the innovation award in the Attachment category, so please tell us a little more about the award-winning product.

RV: Yes, we were awarded for a machine called the D-BLADE 200. It is a cutting disc saw with a diamond blade, designed for cutting asphalt and concrete with very narrow cuts. The real innovation is bringing diamond blade technology to skid steer loaders. For the first time, you have a diamond blade saw for precise cuts in asphalt and concrete, combined with the safety of skid steer operation.

Besides the cutting segment, Simex also offers a full range of cold planers, for which we are well known, as well as solutions for milling asphalt and concrete, and a full line of screening and crushing buckets for excavators and skid steer loaders. So there are many reasons to stop by and take a look at our attachments.

DK: Thank you for the detailed summary. When you were talking about the D-Blade 200 model, you mentioned safety. Am I correct in understanding that safety is becoming an increasingly important issue across the entire industry?

RV: Yes. The D-Blade, for instance, was developed for this very reason, to give greater emphasis to safety from the very beginning, also within our sector, which is particularly high-risk due to the heavy machinery involved on job sites. All Simex attachments are engineered and designed from this perspective: safety first.

DK: And how would you sum up the feedback on this product so far? We know, of course, that you have won an award, but how are (potential) customers generally responding to it?

RV: The equipment was primarily developed for the US market, as it is mainly a skid steer market, and afterwards for Italy. We received a lot of interest, especially in the first few days after the launch, particularly from the American market. I am quite confident that this innovation will bring strong results in that region.

DK: And we hope and believe that it will meet all expectations. Now I would like to step away from the topic of equipment for a moment: What are your expectations for the remaining days?

RV: I really hope that participation will be at the same level or even higher, so we can connect with all our dealers across Italy and Europe who are visiting the fair. Especially on Friday and Saturday, more end customers are expected to attend. These are companies actively working in road construction and earthmoving, who have a very clear understanding of their daily needs and market requirements.

It is therefore important that we listen closely to these types of companies. By better understanding their expectations, we can adapt and further develop our product range in line with actual market demand.

Riccardo Vincenzi shared insights on the D-BLADE 200, attachment safety, and SIMEX’s future direction.<br>IMAGE SOURCE: LECTURA GmbH

DK: That’s true. Understanding the needs of end users is undoubtedly a key part of the right approach. And while we’re at it, what are your next steps after the trade show, or rather, what are your short-term and long-term goals?

RV: Our main focus for the next five years is to further expand exports outside Italy, through our American branch and other branches we may establish, in order to bring Simex technology to all regions that may benefit from innovation on their job sites.

For example, besides the US market and other territories, the Middle East has also been one of the growing markets in the last two years, and hopefully, if the geopolitical situation stabilises, we can continue developing in that direction as well.

DK: Yes, that’s what we all are hoping for. We wish you much success on your global expansion and with your future projects. Thank you very much for all the information you’ve shared with us.
