Skanska builds new bridge in Trondheim, Norway, for NOK 805 M, about SEK 800 M

Skanska has signed a contract with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration on the construction of a new bridge in Trondheim, Norway. The contract is worth NOK 805 M, about SEK 800 M, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the third quarter 2020.

The project includes the construction of the new bridge Rv. 706 Nydalsbrua over the Nidelv river as well as road connections to current and future road networks on both sides of the river. It will also be built a new pedestrian and bicycle path, 80 meters of two-run tunnel and tunnel portals for the future Byåsen tunnel and approximately 1.4 kilometres of a new two-lane road. The new road will cross the Leirelva river in two places and two smaller bridges of 50 and 100 meters respectively will also be built.

The project is part of Greener Trondheim, a partnership for sustainable transport and it has high ambitions in relation to climate and the environment. It is a climate pilot for the Norwegian Public Roads Administration's and the project will also be certified according to CEEQUAL, an international classification standard for sustainability.

Construction start is in October 2020 and will be completed in August 2024.
