Skanska renovates Park Hospital in Helsinki, Finland, for EUR 40 M, about SEK 420 M

Skanska has signed a contract with Helsinki University Hospital for the first phase of the renovation of the Park Hospital in Helsinki, Finland. The contract is worth EUR 40 M, about SEK 420 M, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the fourth quarter 2019.

Park Hospital will be renovated in two phases. The first phase includes the complete renovation of the old parts of the building and a newer extension part. After the renovation, Park Hospital will have 10 operating theatres as well as facilities for ambulatory and outpatient surgery. The schedule for the second phase will be determined later in the process.

The project is underway. In the first phase, about half of the building will undergo a transformation that will be completed in 2021.

Skanska is one of the leading development and construction companies in the Nordics, with operations in building construction and civil engineering in Sweden, Norway and Finland, and developing residential- and commercial property projects in select home markets. The commercial development stream is also active in Denmark. Skanska had sales of about SEK 67 billion and more than 15,500 employees in its Nordic operations during 2018.
