SmartCut exact cutting rotor with V-shaped knife arrangement

 

As an innovation for the self-propelled Profihopper, AMAZONE introduces the SmartCut exact cutting rotor. The outstanding feature of the rotor is the special, V-shaped knife arrangement which results in less fuel consumption and a lower noise level. In the next few weeks, the new exact cutting rotor will be also available for all Grasshopper mowing and scarifying models. 

 

The benefits of the SmartCut rotor, with its V-shaped knife arrangement are obvious in comparison with the rotor technology so far, where the cutting knives are arranged linearly in rows. Because the knives, when arranged in a V-shape, do not pass the cutting bar simultaneously but in very short intervals one after the other, they convey the cutting material better in the direction of the rotor centre, resulting in less lateral air turbulence and, because of this, in an additional improvement in the collecting performance. 

 

Also the noise level is reduced by 5 dB, clearly reducing the sound pressure level at the driver’s ear. 

 

With the new SmartCut exact cutting rotor, AMAZONE has made an important step forwards and further enforced the efficiency and environmental friendliness of their Profihopper and Grasshopper models.

Their versatility allows them not just to mow parks and leisure grounds, golf courses, wild flower meadows and horse paddocks, but also to scarify them and to free them from leaves and debris.
