STILL and ECE implement a new logistics centre in Hamburg

Hamburg’s Finance Senator Dr. Peter Tschentscher, Thomas A. Fischer, CSO of STILL GmbH, and ECE Executive Director Dr. Andreas Mattner carried out the ground-breaking ceremony for STILL GmbH’s new logistics centre in Hamburg today. Two building complexes with a total rentable area of approx. 27,000 m2 will be developed in the immediate vicinity of STILL’s head office at a site on Billbrookdeich by the spring of 2017. The project is being developed, planned and implemented by the Hamburg commercial property specialists ECE. The project’s investment volume amounts to around EUR 30m. STILL has concluded a long-term leasing contract for the logistics centre, which ECE will place on the investor market.

Flexible, innovative and close to the works – with this guiding principle the new STILL logistics centre will become the innovative hub for STILL’s future intralogistics. The main components warehouse and truck dispatch previously in decentral locations in the Billbrook industrial estate will be combined here. Through this infrastructure project STILL underlines its leading market position in the intelligent control of intralogistics material flow, and strengthens its competence for intelligently networked fabrication concepts in its own headquarters – for the benefit of its customers worldwide.

Thomas A. Fischer, CSO of STILL GmbH, stresses that “Through this project we make an important contribution to opening up the full potential of interdepartmental synergies, and take into account the dynamic on worldwide markets for intralogistics.”

According to ECE’s Executive Director Dr. Andreas Mattner, “STILL is an enormously important player for Hamburg. ECE is pleased that it has been able to contribute to securing the location through this customised logistics centre.”
