Strong interest in trade-fair duo

The boom in demand in India´s flourishing beverage and food sector is also reflected in strong participation figures for the successful trade-fair duo of drink technology India and International PackTech India. Between November 6 and 8, 2012, around 250 exhibitors will be converging on the Indian city of Mumbai to showcase the entire spectrum of products and services for the packaging, packaging-print, processing, beverage, food and liquid food industries. The organizers – Messe München and Messe Düsseldorf – are reporting a twenty-percent rise in total hall space taken up by these events.

Online registration is now open for visitors to both these trade fairs, at www.drinktechnology-india.com and www.packtech-india.com. After registration, visitors are sent a registration ID which they can exchange for a ticket once they arrive at the Bombay Exhibition Centre. This way, there is no need to wait in line at the event venue. Tickets to drink technology India and International PackTech India are free of charge, and they entitle holders to visit both events.

Exhibitors from India and all around the globe

The exhibitors at both these trade shows span the whole spectrum from multinationals to small local businesses in India. In total 15 different countries are represented among the companies exhibiting at drink technology India and International PackTech India. They will be presenting their products and processes on around 12,000 square meters of exhibition space in the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Center. Their names include: Bühler, Cama Group, Cavanna, Chronos Richardson India, Clearpack India, COESIA India, Ehcolo A/S, GEA, Hinterkopf, ITW India, KHS, Krones, MultiPack Systems, Pentair, Ronchi Mario Spa, Sidel, Siemens, SSP Packaging and Theegarten-Pactec. The exhibitors will generally be focusing on the needs of the Indian markets and offering solutions and products tailored to meet those needs, e.g. on themes like hygiene and water processing. Products that are easy and uncomplicated to use and which deliver top performance will be a priority.

Leading German companies from the Federal Republic of Germany will be putting on a presentation at the German Pavilion. And at International PackTech India there will also be official national pavilions from Switzerland, Italy and Turkey. drink technology India also has a pavilion from China.

Supporting program: Exhibitor Forum and Congress

Alongside the exhibition itself, there is also an extensive supporting program, which includes an Exhibitor Forum with lectures by the participating companies and a conference on current themes in the sector. The focus in this supporting program, in which experts from India and overseas are taking part, is primarily on issues relevant to the Indian market.

In the Exhibitor Forum at drink technology India exhibitors from India and Europe will be presenting products and system solutions on current themes. The lecture program is divided into eleven blocks, each one exploring a particular aspect of beverage and food technology. The talk given by Philipp Borgs, Lanxess GmbH, for example, is entitled “Hot-fill vs. cold-fill: effects on packaging, costs and sensory properties of beverages”. Atit Bhatia, Hindustan Tin Works Ltd., will be looking at "Innovations and endless possibilities in metal packaging". In a talk given by Stefan Kraus, Krones AG, the subject is "Outline – filling and processing of dairy products". Christian Fruth of Gernep will be talking about new developments in labeling technology. International PackTech 2012 Conference

The lectures and panel discussions at the International PackTech 2012 Conference will concentrate on the subject of innovative packaging technology, modern packaging solutions for the Indian market, labeling, coding, handling and storage. Environmental aspects such as waste management and recycling technologies will also be covered. Leading experts from India and overseas will be passing on their knowledge in this practical forum for the benefit of professionals in packaging development, production, design and marketing. The conference is being organized by IPMMI – Institute of Packaging Machinery Manufacturers of India and IFCA – Indian Flexible Packaging & Folding Carton Manufacturers Association, supported by Messe Düsseldorf and Messe Düsseldorf India Pvt Ltd. Doemens Academy

Doemens, an international education and consulting enterprise for the brewing, beverage and food industry, is organizing a workshop within the framework of drink technology India. This workshop takes place on November 7 and 8 in the Westin Mumbai Garden City Hotel; it is divided into six sessions on different practical issues concerned with raw materials, beverage technology and employee management. The sessions are: Session 1: Water – the raw material; Session 2: Sensory analysis; Session 3: Microbiological analysis of beverages; Session 4: Problems and solutions in filling carbonated soft drinks; Session 5: Line assessment – Finding hygienic weak points in a filling line; and Session 6: Education and support of employees. Around 8,000 trade visitors expected

For the second edition of this trade-fair duo, the organizers from Munich and Düsseldorf, and their Indian subsidiaries, are expecting a significant increase in visitor numbers. In 2010, 201 exhibiting companies from 22 countries attracted more than 6,000 trade visitors. This year, around 8,000 experts are expected – comprising top managers, technicians, engineers and users from the middle management levels.
