Successful market start with over 15,000 Freightliner Cascadia Evolution ordered in 2013

Stuttgart / Portland, USA – The new product of Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) receives an outstanding response in the market: Since the start of production of the Freightliner Cascadia Evolution in March 2013, Daimler’s U.S. commercial vehicle subsidiary has posted a positive order balance of more than 15,000 heavy-duty trucks in the NAFTA region. DTNA grew its market share in this weight class (NAFTA Class 8) by 6.3% to 38.1% in the first half of 2013 (compared to 2012: 31.8%).

The customer feedback in North America attests to the value of DTNA’s advanced technologies. Thanks to the new Detroit DD15 engine with the established Daimler BlueTec exhaust technology and aerodynamic features, customers benefit from fuel savings of up to 7% compared to the EPA 2010-conformant Cascadia truck.

The drivetrain aggregates of the Detroit component brand make the Freightliner Cascadia Evolution into the efficiency champion of DTNA. The Detroit brand sells engines, axles and transmissions. DTNA is the only truck manufacturer in the NAFTA region to produce a completely integrated drivetrain from a single source, which ensures optimal synchronization of the drivetrain components for the customers’ benefit.
