CraneKit, CHAINster and Crane Intelligence are the stars of the show in SWF Krantechnik’s the presentation at this year’s Hanover Trade Fair.
With the CraneKit, a broad range of the crane systems needed in industry can be manufactured. Robust lifting gear, such as the NOVA electric wire rope hoist and the powerful CHAINster electric chain hoist, delivers the required lifting power. The CraneKit component packages are rounded out by a control unit, power supply, end carriages and a great deal more, all of which help the crane manufacturer to build the desired crane efficiently and quickly.
In addition, crane calculation software can help to design the crane system and select the components required – regardless of whether you are constructing a an overhead or underslung crane. A comprehensive range of supplementary features such as tandem function, anti-collision protection, sway control on suspended loads, rain protection etc. – all of these can be achieved using the CraneKits from SWF.
Crane Intelligence complements the robustness of the SWF hoists with the cleverness of electrical engineering. A wide array of functions also helps to lighten the workload in daily operations, even for experienced crane operators, and ensure above all that work can progress quickly and safely. For example, using the Sway Control system for damping the pendulum motion of suspended loads, electronics actually prevent the load from swaying when the crane is starting up and stopping.
Another such function involves the ability to synchronize up to four identical hoists on one crane bridge. A fibre-optic connection or CANbus connection between the inverters on the lifting units enables you to monitor synchronous movement of the lifting motors continuously, thereby assuring synchronous raising and lowering of loads, even if the loads are asymmetrical. This is not to be confused with the tandem function. Here too, several hoists can be controlled at once, causing the lifting units to start and stop the lifting and lowering process simultaneously. If a lifting motor fails, all lifting motors stop too, thereby preventing any tilting of the load.
