technical and conceptual sponsorship continues to grow

The managing director of the German Demolition Association (DA), Andreas Pocha, and steinexpo trade fair director Dr Friedhelm Rese have agreed already in March that the DA will also enter into a technical and conceptual partnership for the demonstration fair with immediate effect. This means that the steinexpo is now supported and backed by five association partners.

steinexpo could already count on the backing of associations at it first event in 1990. It was the BVNI (Association of German Natural Stone Industry), the predecessor association now known as MIRO (Association of German Mineral Raw Materials), who backed this fledgling, and at the time completely unusual trade fair in the beginning. The European Aggregates Association (UEPG), the Construction Machinery and Building Material Plant Association of the Association of German Machinery and Plant Manufacturing (VDMA) and the Association of the Construction Industry, Environmental Technology and Mechanical Engineering (VDBUM) later added their support. Emerging from within itself, the trade fair organisers received an additional sounding board through this network, which promoted the steinexpo idea in the raw materials and building materials industry, in recycling, in the construction industry and in the world of construction machinery and building material plants. With the entry of the German Demolition Association, the scope has now officially been broadened to include the demolition technology segment.

The concept is growing due to the wide range of offers

Observant steinexpo visitors will not have failed to notice that the range of exhibits has already preceded this latest step in the past: Concrete crushers, steel shears, various long front equipment on excavators and, of course, the recycling equipment that is indispensable in the downstream demolition value chain already characterised the diverse variety of exhibits at numerous stands during previous events. Exhibitors operating across all sectors, in particular, unreservedly welcome the expanded partnership model.

In addition, people in leading positions at the Demolition Association and the trade fair organiser Geoplan GmbH have known each other for many years through cooperation on other projects. Mutual reliability and loyalty have been tried and tested, is valued, and will also play a role in future cooperation.

The Demolition Association currently has more than 750 members from the demolition, mineral building rubble recycling and pollutant clean up sectors, making it Europe's largest national association in the demolition industry.

Original statements on the partnership

Statement by Andreas Pocha, managing director of the Demolition Association:

“We have been observing the development of steinexpo with great admiration for a long time. This special trade fair is highly valued by companies in the raw materials and building materials industries as well as by its suppliers and service providers because of its demonstration character. Over time, the presence of demolition equipment and machines in the exhibition spectrum also increased visibly. We therefore consider it to be both a rational and consistent step, as representatives of the demolition industry, to enter into a technical and conceptual partnership for steinexpo. In addition, we have already come to know Geoplan GmbH as a professional organiser of other specialist events and regard this even closer cooperation as part of steinexpo as bilateral gain”.

Managing Director of Geoplan GmbH, Dr Friedhelm Rese:

“We were very pleased with the decision of the German Demolition Association to enter into a technical and conceptual partnership for steinexpo. It is yet another sign of the recognition of this trade fair as the leading event for the closely interlinked industries represented here. steinexpo is now supported and backed by a total of five association partners. Based on our good experience, we appreciate the value of this. When the first steinexpo was held 31 years ago, the tailwind from the leading Natural Stone Association at the time provided an important impetus to the success of the trade fair. With the now completed expansion of our technical and conceptual partnership concept, the steinexpo concept can continue to grow systematically. We are very grateful.”
