Technically sophisticated rollers

The company Quakernack GmbH & Co.KG was founded in Bielefeld (Germany) in 1907. When Jan Möllmann took over as managing director, the task of guiding the fortunes of the 104-year-old family business passed on to the fourth generation. Quakernack is particularly competent in the field of substrate compaction and improvement due to a proprietary method of converting substrates that are difficult to compact or process into usable substrates.

The construction company is banking increasingly on technically sophisticated machines from Ammann. A package consisting of various compaction machines was recently put together and delivered as part of a fleet rejuvenation measure. It includes rammers and vibratory plates, tandem rollers, trench rollers, add-on compactors and single-drum rollers.

Reliable technology of single-drum rollers

Single-drum rollers, in particular, stand out due to their well thought-out design – a fact that workshop foremen Egbert Wortmeier and Jürgen Röhling most appreciate. "All the maintenance points are easily accessible and the engine bay gives the impression of being extremely well laid-out." The design‘s special feature is its hydrostatic drive with independent wheel suspension. This solution allows a low engine position, a shorter wheelbase and a lean, clearly arranged machine design. ”Ammann is totally focused on a customer-oriented approach, just as we are. Our choice was confirmed by the speed with which our order was processed and the uncomplicated approach to implementing our requests with regard to equipment options", explains Jan Möllmann.
