Terex AC 40/2L on the Horizon for Scottish Crane Hire company

Founded in 1973 as a steel reinforcing company, Horizon has always been a well-known family business in the central belt of Scotland. It wasn’t until 1986, when the son of the owner, Steven Dougall, joined the company after leaving school, Horizon entered the crane industry. Over 30 years later, Steven and family have firmly established Horizon Reinforcing & Crane Hire Ltd as one of the fastest growing crane hire and contract lift companies in Scotland.

With a fleet of over 18 cranes, which includes mobile tower cranes, city cranes and all terrain cranes ranging from 35 to 300 tonnes, Horizon has a machine to suit almost any type of rental or contract lift job and when it came time to add another 40 tonne machine to the fleet Steven didn’t have far to look. They purchased a Terex AC 40/2L.

‘We are a Falkirk based company and when Lyle Sibbald, the new Terex Cranes sales manager for Scotland and Ireland came to visit us we were delighted to hear the local accent’ commented Steven Dougall, Managing Director, Horizon Reinforcing & Crane Hire. ‘We have had a number of Terex two axle cranes over the years and were keen to add a new one to the fleet to meet the demand for work’ added Steven.

‘I would like to thank Steven and the team at Horizon for purchasing this new Terex AC 40/2L’ said Lyle Sibbald, Regional Sales Manager, Terex Cranes. ‘Coming from Falkirk myself, it was great to sell my first crane to a local company’ continued Lyle.

With a maximum system length of 45.4m, combined with a compact overall length of 10.79m, the AC40-2/L is a flexible machine, perfectly suited to almost any type of small rental or contract lifting jobs.
