Terex Boosts Operator Comfort With New Braking Technology

Global equipment solutions provider, Terex Construction, has announced an upgrade to its backhoe loader range. After VIN serial 3658, all TLB 840, 890 and 990 models produced at the Coventry factory will be fitted with sophisticated boosted brake technology.

The move follows a consultation period with customers who fed back on their experiences of brake pedal effort. As a result, Terex has introduced boosted brakes in order to maintain safe and effective braking performance while reducing operator fatigue and improving comfort.

Neal Nowick, General Manager of Terex Construction’s Coventry facility, commented: “We are continually looking at new ways in which we can evolve our products in line with the changing demands of the marketplace and the individuals who spend their days on site and in the cab.

“Following comments around brake pedal effort, we have upgraded our entire ’80 Series’ of backhoe loaders at no additional cost to the end user. Introducing boosted brakes, like those you find in road cars, will deliver enhanced comfort and reduce the effort required, leaving operators able to concentrate on the job at hand.”

The roll-out of boosted brakes will take place over the coming months, with all TLB 840, 890 and 990 models produced after VIN serial 3658 coming with the technology as standard.
