Terex takes Genie UK customer service to a higher level with acquisition of PSR

As part of its continuing commitment to customers throughout Europe, Terex today announces an agreement to acquire Platform Service & Repair Limited (PSR). PSR is an Authorised Service Provider of its Genie® brand of aerial work platforms in the United Kingdom. The transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions, is targeted to complete in October.

Upon completion of the acquisition, Genie customers – and owners of other powered access machines – will continue to benefit from the highly responsive and expert maintenance, repairs and refurbishment support of PSR, backed by a strong network of service engineers operating throughout the UK mainland.

“In a year that marks 50 years of the Genie brand ‘building the future,’ we are proud to provide our UK customers with an ideal combination of resources in a one-stop-shop,” said Matt Skipworth, EMEAR Service Solutions Manager, Terex Aerial Work Platforms. “By responding to the needs of our customers, we have further enhanced our ability to provide them with the solutions they require,” he added. “This, in addition, will help us win in the marketplace.”

“Backed by a successful 15-year history of delivering service support to customers throughout the UK, PSR brings together the expert technical skills required to maintain virtually any brand of powered access equipment,” explains Skipworth. “In addition, PSR provides the broad geographical coverage end users and rental companies need to support their machine uptime in the field,” he added. “Our new UK customer support organisation will offer the notable advantages of enhancing the efficiency of fleet maintenance and simplifying procedures to help save time and reduce costs.”

Terex will continue to honour all existing PSR contracts for maintenance, inspection, breakdown repair and engineer cover. All current PSR employees will transfer to the Terex Genie UK team, including the mobile service engineers, workshop-based repair and refurbishment technicians, customer service personnel, and management team.
