The combination of headland management and GEOcontrol

With GEOlift®, the Kverneland universal seed drill, u-drill, has achieved a new level of automation. GEOlift® is the combination of headland management and GEOcontrol. These two important features together offer major advantages for the farmer.

Up to now, it has not been possible to control the individual implements of the seeding combination either one by one or independently from each other. The whole machine had to be lifted or set down simultaneously loosing precious metres. Due to the irregular starting and stopping of the machine, overlapping and bald spots could often occur between the field and the headland. This is now history.

GEOlift®

Due to the intelligent combination of GEOcontrol and headland management, exact timing of the control processes is achieved.

Via GEOcontrol, the metering device is stopped automatically by entering the headland and started again at the beginning of the new pass. Therefore, overlaps are prevented, wear and tear is decreased and seeds up to 5% can be saved. With bald spots being avoided, also the weed pressure is being cut down.

The exact position of the starting and stopping are determined by GPS.

Headland Management controls the soil working implement, the packer re-consolidation and the coulterbar.
