The European Commission has decided

The European Commission has agreed to the acquisition of Terex MHPS (DEMAG) by Konecranes with effect from 08.08.2016 on condition that Konecranes sell the global business of STAHL CraneSystems.

The European Commission’s goal in respect of this sale is to ensure that STAHL CraneSystems is preserved as a separate brand and competitor on the market for hoisting equipment, independent from Konecranes and Terex MHPS. The sale will take place under the European Commission’s supervision.

STAHL CraneSystems ranks among the leading builders of hoisting and crane technology on an international level, with nine subsidiaries worldwide and over 140 certified crane building partners. In 2016, the company achieved a turnover of around € 145 million with approximately 700 employees, of which 550 work at the headquarters in Künzelsau. This makes STAHL CraneSystems one of the most important employers in the Hohenlohe region.
