The Lely Storm 300: our forage harvesters enter a new era

At this year’s Agritechnica, Lely introduces a new trailed forage harvester for grass and corn. The Lely Storm 300 can be used with a wide non-steered pick-up or a three-row corn head. Lely responds to the needs of the market segment for more capacity and easier operation with this pick-up, with a working width of 2,200mm. This forage harvester, designed with a new power belt drive line, up to 300 hp is intended for managers of larger farms and contractors in areas in which the time for grass harvesting is limited.

What is unique about the Lely Storm 300 is the use of a newly developed intake in combination with a camless pick-up. This new and improved intake system delivers an exceptionally even crop flow in the direction of the conditioner wheel. This provides for greater capacity, meaning that the forage harvester has no problems with wide, bulky or uneven swaths. The pick-up follows the contour of the ground very precisely to properly pick up crops. The pick-up also has fewer moving parts; it is less prone to wear-and-tear and maintenance-friendly.

Flexible steering

The Lely Storm 300 is equipped with ISOBUS steering. The steering system is intuitive and easy to steer with clear buttons and a large touchscreen on the tractor. For tractors with no ISOBUS connection, Lely has developed an E-link control panel for the Storm 300. This handy control panel has specific buttons for each function and an intuitive display.

New crop chute

New on the Lely Storm 300 is the new bigger crop chute, designed for trailers with high (large) transport heights. The crop chute comes standard with 280° spout adjustment and is hydraulically adjustable and foldable.

Designed for use with grass and corn

With the Lely Storm 300, you can work with both grass and corn. The new pick-up can be used as standard with grass. For corn, the Storm 300 can be fitted with an independent three-row, rowless corn head.
