The new 5-series line of products – safe, flexible, economical

Kramer-Werke GmbH presents the new wheel loader generation

At Intermat 2015, Kramer will present the new models 5035, 5085 and 5085T of the 5-series line of products. In addition to the enormous stability and manoeuvrability of the machines, the 5-series line of products is also characterised by a high level of efficiency and enormous versatility in application. With the economical engine concept and a sophisticated quick-hitch system, operators save fuel, time and therefore money. With a clever operating concept, the new cabin layout offers the operator a high degree of operator friendliness and ergonomics.

Kramer will present the new 5-series wheel loaders for the first time at Intermat in Paris. The available models 5075, 5085, 5085T and 5095 with bucket sizes from 0.75 to 0.95 cubic metres were completely revised for this purpose. A great deal of value was placed on the continued development of the wheel loaders, from the cabin to the engine to the power train. The central component of the larger models 5085T and 5095 is an intercooled 4-cylinder turbo engine with a rating of 55 kW or 75 hp. Compared to the preceding engines, Kramer engineers achieved an increase of torque here by up to 17 per cent with a simultaneous reduction in the fuel consumption. These outstanding consumption values are achieved thanks to the maintenance-free oxidation catalytic converter (DOC). This is because with DOC - compared to the alternative technology with diesel particulate filters (DPF) - no active open burning of the filter is necessary. This allows the contractors to save a great deal of fuel and therefore money with the new models of the 5-series.

For even more flexibility in use, the wheel loader 5095 can be outfitted with optional quick change plates that allow for a quick and safe changing of attachments. The wheel loaders 5055 and 5065 can also be optionally equipped with common rail engines and DPF. The engines of this generation are characterised by an improved running smoothness and less noise pollution for the environment. The system pays off, especially for use in the urban sector, municipal applications and for indoor applications in industry. The highly intuitive operation of the two wheel loaders is also convincing: With the arrangement of the operator's controls on the right side of the cab, the operator has all the important functions and monitoring instruments in view, such as the exhaust gas cleaning temperature and the regeneration of the diesel particulate filter.

A new cab layout has been developed with an even greater emphasis on comfort and ergonomics. The overall design and layout of the controls have been designed so that operators can find their way intuitively. Multi-function joystick, hand throttle, low-speed control and load stabilizer are located in the cab to ensure the operator can reach them easily. The larger wheel loaders from the 5075 model upwards also have three optional types of steering: Depending on requirements, the machine can be driven in all-wheel, front-wheel or crab steering. Flexibility and manoeuvrability are thus greatly increased. An optional long loading system is offered for all models of the 5 series from the 5055 wheel loader. Kramer is therefore responding to a demand from the market: For municipalities, the long loading system is perfect for loading grit and de-icing salt for winter maintenance. The series launch for the new wheel loaders of the 5-series is April 2015.
