The new Frutteto Natural Range – a breed for specialists

The highly specialised capabilities of the SAME Frutteto tractor range are now available in a choice of new “Natural” versions powered by FARMotion Stage III B engines.

The new Frutteto Natural Stage III B tractors are essential machines with the same superior efficiency and reliability as the rest of the SAME Frutteto family. The Natural range consists of two 3 cylinder models (70 and 80) and one 4 cylinder model (80.4), all with turbo-intercooled engines with electronically controlled 2000 bar common rail injection. An engine speed memory function lets the driver save and recall specific engine speeds, which are then maintained automatically by the engine management system. While compact in size, FARMotion engines deliver impressive performance and fuel economy, with torque reserves of up to 42% , these units offer efficiency comparable with the best engines in this class. Stage III B emissions compliance has been achieved with just an external, cooled EGR system and a maintenance-free DOC catalytic converter, which does not require periodic regeneration cycles performed by injecting additional fuel.

The layout of the engine compartment has been optimised to allow easy access for maintenance of these high-tech engines. The latest generation cooling group includes the viscostatic fan, engine coolant radiator, intercooler, fuel radiator and 8" PowerCore engine intake air filter. The 65 l fuel tank is set further back on the machine.

An extraordinary choice of modular transmission configurations is offered, while the transmissions are essentially mechanical, for maximised simplicity, efficiency and reliability. The extensive choice includes transmissions based on gearboxes with 4 or 5 intelligently spaced speeds matched with 2 or 3 ranges and available with optional creeper and underdrive gears. This means that Frutteto Natural Stage III B tractors can be equipped with transmissions offered from 8+8 speeds to 30+15 speeds, letting the driver find exactly the right ratio for the job, whatever the conditions in the field. For greater efficiency for road transport usage, all transmission configurations offer a top speed of 40 Km/h.

The mechanically controlled independent rear PTO is available as a base version with the standard 540 rpm speed mode and 540 ECO mode, which increases the versatility of the tractor and saves fuel when using the PTO for light duty tasks. A ground speed mode (Synchro) is also available.

The front axle has a maximum permissible load capacity of 1800 Kg and an impressive maximum steering angle of 55°. The differential is 100% lockable, while the tractor is equipped with a true all-wheel braking system, with wet disc brakes on all four wheels. The hydraulic trailer braking system offered as an option is also available as a version already compliant with the latest safety directives.

Also conceived for total simplicity, reliability and efficiency, the hydraulic system uses an 18 l/min pump to supply oil exclusively to the hydraulic steering system, for unparalleled safety and smooth steering action even at the lowest engine speeds, and a gear pump with a maximum delivery rate of 42 l/min to feed the rear lift and rear hydraulic distributors (available in 2, 4 or 6-way configurations).

The mechanically controlled rear three point linkage ensures the superior power and precision you'd expect from a SAME rear lift systyem. In addition to the Standard version, a Compact variant of the lift is also available, which reduces the space needed to manoeuvre at the end of the row when working with mounted implements. Maximum load capacity at the lower link ends is up to 3050 Kg for the Standard version and up to 2700 Kg for the Compact version.

The rational and linear design of the new driver zone makes the driver feel immediately at ease, and features SAME's tried and tested colour-coded scheme, with controls organised in a functional, ergonomic layout allowing the driver to identify them immediately and intuitively with no guesswork. The lower profile centre tunnel and controls that are now even more , simple and intuitive to make the driver's job less strenuous,, while the practical digital display on the dashboard provides all the information the operator needs to keep all the functions of the tractor under control. To protect the driver in the event of a roll-over, these tractors may be equipped with partially folding 2-pillar front frames.
