Schäffer unveils the 16e compact loader with electric motor drive at the EuroTier trade fair.
-
The 16e model offers emission-free operation, ideal for barns and agricultural facilities with confined spaces.
-
Measuring 0.89 m in width and 1.99 m in height, the 16e can easily navigate narrow and low entryways.
-
The loader has a low operating weight of 1,345 kg and a lifting capacity of 810 kg, suitable for various farm tasks.
-
Powered by a 48 V Li-Ion battery pack, the 16e offers up to two and a half hours of operation for medium-duty activities.

The battery can be charged via wall boxes with a Type 2 plug or 230 V power outlets, reaching 80% capacity in about two and a half hours.
The new Schäffer compact loader with electric motor drive for efficient working even in very confined spaces: The 16e model, unveiled at the EuroTier trade fair, builds on the design of the compact loader 1622 and enables emission-free operation. This guarantees a wide range of applications in barns and other agricultural facilities that until now have demanded manual labour or where other machines are simply too big to do the job.
The animals leisurely chew their food as a compact loader moves through the barn walkway in front of them, delivering fresh supplies without loud engine noise or exhaust fumes. Daily tasks that would be barely possible with a conventionally driven compact loader are handled with ease by the new electric compact loader 16e: It boasts an extremely compact design, measuring just 0.89 m in width and 1.99 m in height. This allows it to fit easily through narrow and low entryways in barns and to operate in stalls.
A wide range of tasks can be completed successfully with the compact loader. Whether you are transporting feed, mucking out or carrying out maintenance work around the farm, the compact dimensions and Schäffer’s extensive range of attachments guarantee a high degree of flexibility. Thanks to its low operating weight of just 1,345 kg, the loader is particularly gentle on outdoor surfaces while offering significant advantages when used on concrete slatted floors in barns. The lifting height at the tool pivot is 2.23 metres and the hydraulic output is 28 l/min. The electric and conventional models also offer an identical lifting capacity of 810 kg.
The 16e is equipped with energy-efficient LED working headlights. A 9.6 kW electric motor sends power to the hydrostatic drive with automotive control and the working hydraulics. The motor, in turn, is powered by a 48 V Li-Ion battery pack. With a capacity of 12.2 kWh, it enables operating times of up to two and a half hours for medium duty loading activities where no hydraulic attachments are used.
The battery pack can be charged either from commercially available wallboxes with a Type 2 plug or from 230 V power outlets. With both variants, charging the battery to 80 per cent capacity takes around two and a half hours. The 16e therefore provides an excellent opportunity to economically utilise electricity generated by a solar or biogas system.
