THE X-FACTOR CHASSIS-A NEW INTERNATIONAL PATENTED INVENTION

Socage Srl shows its original X-shape chassis for aerial working platforms, after APEX exhibition in Amsterdam, where it had a great success and it has been appreciated by the sector’s experts. The X-shape chassis of the company based in Sorbara (Modena) is particularly interesting, as shown in the international exhibition, not only for its aesthetics, but also for its special technical innovations. As a matter of facts, the X-shape chassis has four telescopic outriggers, which are tangential to the platform’s rotation turret, and which are longer than common outriggers, once opened. The extra length gives the platform more stability since the stabilization area is wider. That means an increase of the aerial working platform’s performances in terms of outreach, with a sensible increase of the distance from the stability line to which the basket can be brought.

As shown in the figure, where the platform’s outriggers are completely opened, this X-shape chassis is really unique: it is a rotated four-side figure. This characteristic is a special innovation of Socage.

Another considerable aspect which characterizes Socage invention is that the wider stabilization area at the same time is obtained with a more compact equipment and a lighter structure, so that the truck does not have to support a huge weight. As a matter of fact, the X-shape chassis is directly mounted on the truck chassis and for this reason the before used longerons, crossbars or chassis are no longer needed for this type of installations.
