Topcon GB, the global positioning partner for geo-businesses, has launched its latest UAV, the Falcon 8, and new IP-S3 HD mobile mapping system, at this year’s GeoBusiness (London, 27-28 May).
The Falcon 8 is the most stable micro UAV on the market. With a sophisticated AsTec AutoPilot, eight-propeller system and patented V-shape, it is more robust and offers a unique 360 degree field of view. The IP-S3 HD was also unveiled at the show, a smaller, lighter and easier to handle 3D mobile mapping system that can efficiently capture various data for all types of project.
As part of the event, Matthew McCarter, business development manager at Topcon, chaired the ‘BIM Meets Geospatial’ conference, leading topical discussions around new technologies and encouraging the mass adoption of BIM. Visitors were additionally invited along to a series of Topcon workshops to talk about mass data collection, workflow and the company’s software collaboration with Autodesk.
Topcon demonstrated a broad range of aerial mapping equipment and lasers at the GeoBusiness show, including the Sirius Pro – a robust technology for creating aerial maps and digital terrain models - and the new TP-L5 series of pipe lasers.
