The TotalTrax SX/VX platform consists of both software (SX) and hardware (VX) designed for the specific needs of the material handling industry. It will be compatible with company’s existing product installations and provide a flexible, expandable, advanced telematics solution with enhanced data management, reporting and analysis tools. Individual features can be purchased separately via software downloads.
TotalTrax, Inc., a leading manufacturer of automated, real-time, vehicle, driver and inventory tracking products has introduced a flexible and upgradable software-driven advanced telematics platform that can accommodate evolving customer requirements and new applications without the need to change platforms. Using a single hardware device, customers choose only the features they need via the purchase of downloadable software packages. These choices include new load sensing and job tracking options as well as impact detection, driver access control, and pre-shift inspection checklists. Users can choose which individual functions to employ across different sites and multiple vehicles while managing only one hardware device and data reporting package.
The new TotalTrax SX/VX advanced telematics platform was developed with an open architecture that evolves with changing needs. While compatible with existing TotalTrax ID, RF and EM equipment monitoring products, customers can now choose specific functionality by downloading features from the TotalTrax cloud. This approach provides easy, cost-effective integration of new applications, whether from TotalTrax or third party developers, and will interface with new inventory tracking technology to be introduced later this year.
The SX/VX platform also provides a high level of interoperability, allowing data to be shared among multiple platforms, including maintenance, fleet, warehouse and labor management systems for more robust analytics capability. New data warehouse, reporting, and dashboard tools provide easier and enhanced filtering, data customization and presentation.
Frank Cavallaro, Chief Executive Officer for TotalTrax, said, “The materials handling and indoor logistics technology market has been looking for a more flexible, scalable solution to address fleet safety and warehouse productivity challenges for years. Our new SX/VX platform makes it easier for manufacturing and warehouse managers to take comprehensive control over their vehicles and operations today, while providing the flexibility to change or upgrade functionality – via software – in minutes.”
The SX/VX platform meets IP66 ruggedness specifications and provides a simpler, more intuitive user interface in four language options – English, Spanish, French Canadian and German. The user interface can be displayed on any browser-enabled device to leverage users’ existing investment in vehicle-mounted terminals, tablets or smart phones. LED displays make unit status recognition easier and each unit can be accessed remotely for performance monitoring and diagnostic support. Users can host the SX software locally, centrally or elect to have TotalTrax host it as part of its cloud service options. Software updates will now be downloaded automatically.
“The warehouse industry has been talking about smart trucks for a long time,” said Cavallaro, “but vehicles are just one part of the equation. With the TotalTrax SX/VX advanced telematics platform, we have taken the next step by building a more intelligent, flexible, software-driven system that can serve enterprise-level customers today and for many years to come. This will provide a longer life cycle for their original investment and faster ROI.”
