Trimble Names Senior Vice President

Trimble announced today the appointment of Sachin J. Sankpal as senior vice president and sector head, effective today. He will manage the P&L of the sector focused on intelligent transportation and asset sharing.  

Sankpal brings over 20 years of global experience as a general manager and as a functional leader in strategy, finance, product management and operations. He was recently the president of Honeywell International's Global Safety Products Division while based in Paris, France. During his career at the company, he also served as vice president and general manager of Honeywell's Safety Products Division for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India as well as vice president of Global Strategic Marketing for Honeywell's Life Safety Division. During his seven-year tenure at Avaya, Inc., a leading enterprise communications company, Sankpal served in several functional leadership roles while based in the US and Asia. He served as the director of Strategy and Product Management, the chief operating officer of Avaya-Japan, Ltd., operations leader in India, and the director of Global Restructuring. Before that, Sankpal served as a director of Strategy and Finance for Trimble's Engineering & Construction Division. Prior to Trimble, Sankpal was a consultant for Navigant Consulting based in Boston, Mass. He began his career at Langan Engineering & Environmental Services as a staff engineer. Sankpal holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University, an MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Dartmouth College.
