Lift Trucks Optimized for Operational Efficiency
Nissan Forklift by UniCarriers is the preferred brand of lift truck by large freight companies in the U.S. and those focusing on efficiency and lower operating costs.
UniCarriers Americas Corporation (UCA) offers the Nissan Forklift brand Platinum II lift truck with features optimized for greater operational efficiency and lower operating costs.
As a solution for any operation requiring exceptional fuel efficiency, and long-term value in its lift truck fleet, Platinum II forklifts offer innovative features and outstanding productivity, which make the Nissan Forklift brand preferred by many of the largest freight operations in the U.S.
The Platinum II Series is powered by the company’s well-known K21 (2.1 liter), and optional K25 (2.5 liter), industrial engines. Using a test pattern designed to simulate typical warehouse operating cycles, results showed that the Platinum II models delivered fuel savings of 8 to 11 percent compared to two leading competitors, while in the Economy setting.
Innovative features on Platinum II models that make operations – especially those with high cycles – more efficient and deliver lower operating costs over the life of the vehicle include:
-
Standard Powertrain Protection System which reduces the truck’s speed when excessive heat or oil pressure loss is detected, lengthening drivetrain life.
-
Standard Programmable Speed Control which allows a technician to set maximum travel speeds based on skill level or corporate safety policy.
-
Standard Operator Presence System which features a seat-actuated power interrupt system to lock travel and hydraulic functions if the operator is not seated; the system also includes a seatbelt warning system and parking brake alarm.
-
Standard Parking Brake Transmission Interlock which prevents the lift truck from switching into forward or reverse if the parking brake is engaged, avoiding brake damage. (Feature will be available on equipment built beginning November 2015.)
“The Platinum II lift trucks offer many standard features that others usually only offer as costly add-ons,” said Mark Porwit, director, marketing and product management for UniCarriers Americas. “These models are optimized for high-cycle operations to increase efficiency, prevent damage and encourage security.”
Other features available as optional equipment include:
-
Shift Inhibitor System which prevents operators from shifting transmission direction at high travel speeds, limiting transmission shock and excessive wear for longer service life. (Feature will be available on equipment built beginning November 2015.)
-
Damage Avoidance System which uses sensors to detect lowered fork position and reduces speed to avoid damage due to dragging the forks. This system is activated while the forklift is driving in reverse. Mast restrictions apply.
-
Legal-for-Trade Scale and Onboard Computing which uses a wireless connection to transmit scale data to the onboard computer and company’s business system, helping increase productivity with accurate and timely information.
