Väderstad launches a large rigid Tempo

Väderstad presents the largest Tempo ever built - Tempo R, a rigid model with a frame width up to 9.3 metres. It is possible to plant corn, sunflower, sorghum and soya with the Tempo R.

“When developing this planter the design brief was to create a robust planter with great precision and working width”, says Lars Thylén.

Tempo R is available from January 2014 with the following frame widths: 3, 3.6, 4.5, 6 and 9.3 metres. Row spacing from 45-100 cm is available and number of row units from 4 to12.

The planter is built around Väderstad’s unique metering system for drilling maize and sunflower. The planter is tractor-mounted and must be towed on a trolley during transportation.

Tempo R can be equipped with three different types of electronics:

  • Control Station, a robust solution used on most VVAB seed drills
  • Isobus, where the planter is controlled by a Virtual Terminal on the tractor (Note: VVAB does not supply Virtual Terminals)
  • Väderstad E-Services application downloaded to an iPad, where communication with the planter takes place through a wireless network.
