This range of all new tractors was launched at the end of 2014 and by May 2015 over 1000 had been produced at the Suolahti factory and sold in Europe. The T4 range which extends from 150 to 250hp was conceived over a period of several years and only after designers and engineers had talked to farmers and drivers in the agriculture, forestry and other industries. Very few components from previous models have been used; as Valtra Marketing Director Mikko Lehikoinen said, "Everything is new except for the steering wheel and the parking/direction lever."

At its launch, Valtra's new T4 Series received very positive reviews in the agricultural press, positive reviews that have continued as a result of extended driving experiences. These results have been echoed by owners and drivers: Comfort, performance and economical operation are all cited as reasons for purchase.

T4 tractor are available with a choice of three transmissions: Direct, a CVT transmission developed by Valtra specifically for their tractors. Versu, a new generation of powershift coupled to electronically controlled and operated hydraulics and the current third option, Active. Active is a combination of a powershift transmission with mechanically operated hydraulics with load sensing. A HiTech option is planned for the coming autumn.

Mark Broom. Valtra's National Sales Manager for the UK and Ireland commented; "This award is one of several that proves we listen to our customers and develop machines that meet their needs."
