VDMA Productronics and ZVEI support electrical energy storage 2012 – International Trade Fair for Batteries, Energy Storage Devices and Innovative Manufacturing
Munich, February 2012. Messe München International can count on support from the leading German federations when it comes to organising the new electrical energy storage (ees) – International Trade Fair for Batteries, Energy Storage Devices and Innovative Manufacturing. In future, both the VDMA (German Engineering Federation), Productronics trade association and ZVEI (Central Association of the German Electrical and Electronics Industries) will be standing shoulder to shoulder with the new event as strong partners. The first electrical energy storage (ees) and accompanying congress will take place from 13 – 16 November 2012 on the Messe München site concurrently with electronica, the world’s leading trade fair.
In addition to the final choice of name for the new event, Messe München International provided a further important input to the successful organisation of the event through its collaboration with the VDMA Productronics and ZVEI trade associations. Norbert Bargmann, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, Messe München GmbH: “I am very pleased that VDMA Productronics and ZVEI are throwing their weight behind electrical energy storage (ees) 2012. With these strong partners on board, we can offer exhibitors a further guarantee that their goals will be met, ensuring as it does that both manufacturers and users will be equally represented. Together with the large numbers of international visitors thanks to the concurrent staging of the world’s leading trade fairs electronica and productronica, this is an additional inestimable benefit for all participants.”
“From high performance batteries to supercapacitors to the fuel cell, the electrical energy storage device field offers ample opportunities for synergies with electronics manufacturing,” said Dr. Eric Maiser, Deputy Managing Director of the Productronics Association in the VDMA. “Automation and mass production are driving the necessary precision for both product longevity andcost reduction. Electronics engineering has innovations ready and waiting that are eminently applicable to electrical energy storage devices. For VDMA Productronics, the proximity to productronica and electronica is ideal.” Christoph Stoppok, Managing Director of the PCB and Electronic Systems trade association within the ZVEI, also sees major benefits in collaboration: “It is precisely the sea change in the energy market, with its focus on the use of renewable energies – inherently subject to considerable fluctuations in output – and its application in hybrid and electric vehicles that offers our member companies an attractive market for the sale of their products and services. “We see electrical energy storage as an ideal complement to the programme offered by the double billing of the electronica and productronica trade fairs.”
AUTOMATICA, the International Trade Fair for Automation and Mechatronics, from 22 – 25 May 2012, provides a foretaste of electrical energy storage (ees) 2012, with its own special exhibition “Battery Production and Automation Technology”. This will focus on all aspects of production automation – industrial image processing, robotics together with assembly and handling technology.
By portraying the entire innovative battery and energy storage device technology value chain – from components to manufacturing to concrete applications – electrical energy storage (ees) provides the ideal platform for the
rapidly expanding mobile and stationary energy storage device market. The trade fair is accompanied by a congress lasting several days at which wellknown speakers from the worlds of industry, research and politics will be discussing the latest developments and solutions. The concurrency with the world’s leading trade fairs electronica and productronica, with their respective focus on electronics and electronics manufacturing, ensures unique synergies and high international visitor traffic.
