Vicon Extends its Range of EXTR∆ 300 Series Centre Mounted Disc Mowers

Vicon now offers a complete range of  EXTRΔ 300 centre mounted disc mower series with the new 2.8, 3.2 and 4.0m versions. The new models are packed with features, including centre suspension, two-speed driveline, Non-Stop BreakBack and up to 125° vertical transport position.

Four Different Working Widths – From 2.8m Up to 4.0m
The 3.6m EXTRΔ 336 was introduced last season, and now the range is completed with the introduction of another 3 working widths, making the EXTRΔ 300 series a very competitive range. With 4 models, going from 2.8 to 4.0m working width there is no need to compromise; it is possible to specify the exact version that will utilize available capacity and horsepower to the maximum.

The Vicon Hallmark – The Three-Bladed Discs
The latest generation of the EXTR∆ cutterbar is fitted to the 300 series, offering unmatched cutting performance thanks to the triangular three-bladed discs, always in even numbers, for efficient crop transfer. With three blades per disc each knife has a third less load compared to two-knifed discs. With a third less load on each knife they will last and cut for longer period, providing longer period with neat, cleanly cut stubble.

Vertical Transport Position
All EXTRΔ 300 models are folded hydraulically into a vertical transport position between 110⁰ and 125⁰. The low gravity point during transport provides an excellent weight distribution, with the weight of the mower close to the tractor. Also the weight is distributed evenly to each side of the tractor, which protects both mower and tractor from excessive forces during transport. The tractor and mower remains well balanced also at high speed road transport. Transport height is limited, and even the 4m EXTRA 340 will go below 4m transport height, so passing through narrow gateways or under bridges is no problem.

Centre Suspended Mowing Unit
The new EXTRΔ 300 range is centre suspended via a suspension spring, to give an even weight distribution across the complete mower width. Faster and more accurate adaptation to ground contours is also achieved because of the centre suspended design. The benefit is less skid wear and optimum protection of the stubble. Furthermore the mowing units can be mounted in two different positions on the suspension for easy setting of optimal overlap, convenient when working in combination with a front mounted mower.

To offer maximum protection of the cutterbar the EXTR∆ 300 series is fitted with the Vicon feature Non-Stop BreakBack. When encountering an obstacle, the BreakBack will swing the machine backwards and over the obstacle, returning to its original working position once the obstacle has been passed.

Each machine, from 2.8 to 4.0m, is factory fitted with the option of being operated with either 540 or 1000 rpm, allowing the mower to operate at lower power requirements, significantly reducing fuel consumption. It requires no additional accessory. All that is needed is simply to turn the main gearbox on the suspension 180°.
