Wacker Neuson presented with iF Design Awards

iF Design Awards 2016 go to Wacker Neuson compact excavator ET90 and roller series RD. Wacker Neuson is known for its unique production design. Now two products were distinguished with the famous iF design price once more.

In order to attain a balance between functionality, customer demands and a particular design, the design team of Wacker Neuson were set priorities: the focus is the functionality and it's supported by design. All machines should work for the user intuitively, understandably and tidily.

The current awards show: The design of the Wacker Neuson compact excavator ET90 and the roller series RD have both been distinguished with an iF Product Design Award 2016 in the category "Vehicles". The character, the compaction and the professionalism of the products could persuade the professional jury. For 63 years the iF Product Design Award has been a recognized trademark for excellent design. The iF label has established itself internationally as a symbol for outstanding design performance.

The Winner

The design of the excavator ET90 impresses with clean lines, which underline the machine's edgy and modern look. With a voluminous body lend the excavator a robust appearance and it leaves no doubt about its strength. The hood's contour supports the visibility and gives the machine a certain dynamic appeal. The cabin is characterized by large windows and a generous interior. A wide C-pillar provides stability and protection for the driver. All controls are clustered intuitively to ease the operation of the machine.

The distinctive lines and clear surfaces of the rollers of the RD series provide a contemporary, modern design. The ergonomic operator's platform is optically based on the front drum and emphasizes the power and performance of the machine. Its sloped hood adds to the machine a dynamic appeal and improves the visibility for the operator. The gray remote front mask protrudes strongly and gives the machine a memorable face. The front mask can be completely removed and serves as a maintenance port. The visibility towards the drum and the working area can be vastly improved by a lateral slope of the front section. Clearly designed control elements ensure an intuitive and easy handling.
