Machine control systems are driver assistance systems that make construction projects and processes more efficient, productive and safer. Economical trenching in rock

Prior to the construction of a factory and warehouse in Haiger, Germany, Wirth Bau GmbH used a KEMROC EKT 100 milling machine on a 25-tonne excavator to excavate trenches and pits for strip and individual footings. <br>IMAGE SOURCE: KEMROC

At an industrial park at its hometown, Haiger in the German state of Hesse, the construction company Wirth secured a major contract. Before construction of a new factory and warehouse could start, they had to prepare the site and install foundations.  A 25-tonne excavator with a KEMROC EKT 100 milling attachment was used to work out the footings through solid and fissured rock – saving time and money compared to the use of hammer and bucket. The Mariahilfer Straße, affectionately named "Mahü" by locals, is Vienna's most popular shopping boule- vard. It will soon see the opening of yet another shopping des- tination. Built on the grounds of the former Leiner furniture store, the "Lamarr" – named after the Austrian film diva Hedy Lamarr – will be a modern yet traditional-style department store including a hotel and restaurants. The highlight of the building ensemble will be a publicly accessible green roof garden. Aus- trian contractor Habau Hoch- und Tiefbaugesellschaft m.b.H. purchased a WOLFF 8033.16 Cross for the project. It is being utilized alongside two further WOLFF cranes to construct the building shell which is scheduled for completing by the end of the year. The site's location in Vienna's heavily frequented downtown area called for a unique crane solution. Read more >>
