Weidemann presented the first prototype of the new emission-free, electrically driven 1160 eHoftrac at Agritechnica 2013 for the first time. The fully developed machine was then presented at EuroTier 2014, which simultaneously marked the market launch. As a part of a large-scale presentation tour, Weidemann has been presenting the new innovative farm loader with the electric drive concept to the general public at trade fairs and events in close collaboration with the respective distributors since the end of November 2014.

Now the time has come and the first series production eHoftracwas completed in the Weidemann production plant in Korbach on 27 March 2015. With a small ceremonial act, the three Weidemann managing directors Bernd Apfelbeck, Klaus Pohl and Hans-Heinrich Schmidt appreciated the inclusion of the new technology in the production process. "We are glad to start mass producing the machine today in order to finally meet the strong demand of our customers for the eHoftrac," says Bernd Apfelbeck, who has received positive responses from the distributors and end customers in recent months. The entire Weidemann management has high expectations for the topic of electrification.

The new technology of course presented a great challenge for the design and development and production. The project managers of the eHoftrac Jan Prechel and the production manager Jörg Lenz together with their teams did a great deal of intensive work for this project.

The 1160 eHoftrac was also recognized independently: In March 2015, the machine was able to win two awards at prestigious trade fairs. The 1160 eHoftrac was awarded with the innovation award at the Bulgarian trade fair Agra 2015 in Plovdiv and the international equine fair Equitana in Essen.
