"Wetten, dass..?" stage transported by Helga Penzkofer on Kögel Mega trailers

On the 6th of October, a new chapter in the 30-year history of "Wetten, dass..?" started in Dusseldorf. To coincide with the taking over of the popular Saturday evening show by Markus Lanz, a new major contract also started for Helga Penzkofer haulage contractors: The company will be ensuring that the "Wetten, dass..?" stage is delivered to the place of broadcast in good time. Helga Penzkofer will be using a total of eight new Kögel Mega trailers to quickly and reliably master its logistically challenging tasks. Four of the trailers are equipped for multimodal transport.

"In order to be able to meet the logistics requirements of such a major television event, I must be able to completely rely on both the involved personnel and the equipment," explains Georg Freudenstein, managing director of the commissioned transport company. "I can put my trust in the high-quality, robust Kögel trailers. Such equipment is the only way for us to be able to make our small yet vital contribution to the great success of this Saturday evening show."

The Kögel Mega trailers being used are ideal for transporting bulky loads and for being loaded with stage components thanks to their internal clear height of 3 metres. The standard mechanical-hydraulic lifting roof helps when loading and unloading - it increases the lateral and rear through-loading height to three metres. The DIN EN 12642 Code XL certification means that no additional load securing is required for form-locked loading. In addition, the Mega trailers are equipped for special use in the automotive sector as per Daimler Guideline 9.5.

Four railway version trailers

Four of the eight trailers have been equipped with a reinforced chassis frame and a coupling plate with 2" kingpins so that they are suitable for multimodal transport. The aramid tarpaulin protection with gripper jaws makes the Mega Rail trailers suitable for loading onto a train. The Kögel Mega trailers can be loaded onto many common rail transport cars such as T 3000, Twin, and T 5. The increased centre distance enables loading by crane. The new vehicles have been certified by Deutsche Bahn AG for transport using high-speed freight trains in combined transport, as per the S400/P400 Code XL standard. Like for all Kögel vehicles, the entire vehicle frame on the Kögel Mega Rail has long-term corrosion protection thanks to nano cathodic dip-paint technology and a final coat of paint.
