Widening works to the third lane of the Firenze South-Incisa section, A1 Motorway Milan - Naples

Trevi S.p.A., a division of the Trevi Group and leading company specialised in foundation and geotechnical works, is carrying out - on behalf of Amplia S.p.A. - the works for the widening of the third motorway lane in the Florence South - Incisa section of the A1 Motorway Milan - Naples. Specifically, the Trevi intervention covers the portion from km 306+986 to km 318+511.

Work and equipment

The most significant part of the work is the execution of the bored piles for the construction of the portals of the entrances to the new San Donato tunnel and the slope-supporting bulkheads, all with a diameter of 1,200 millimetres and depths varying from 22 to 30 metres. Additional works consist of plastic secant piles with a diameter of 920 millimetres and a depth of approximately 18,000 millimetres and also tie rods for approximately 44,000 metres.

In order to perform the work, Trevi is using a fleet of Soilmec equipment consisting of an SR-35, an SR-45, an SR-75, an SR-100 and an SM-21 for tie-rods.
