World premiere at Agritechnica: New Grammer Maximo XT2: Newly developed driver seat series with massage function for retrofitting

Grammer is unveiling its new Maximo XT2 driver seat for tractors and agricultural machinery to the public for the first time at Agritechnica 2025 in Hanover. As Grammer's first fully electrically adjustable driver seat with memory in the off-road sector, it now brings the ‘ULTIMATE COMFORT’ familiar from premium passenger car models to agricultural machinery. This is not just an update of the popular and well-known Maximo XT driver seat series, but a completely redesigned product, available in five different equipment variants. Thanks to its optional control via the ISOBUS terminal, the fully electric Maximo XT2 fits into all common tractors and agricultural machinery and offers air conditioning with massage function and innovative Dualmotion backrest, as well as maximum functionality and the best quality for long durability.

In addition to the new Maximo XT2 driver seat series, Grammer will be showcasing a wide selection of aftermarket driver seats at the trade fair that have been specially developed to meet the requirements of modern agricultural machinery. Whether compact tractors or large harvesters – Grammer offers the right seating solution for every vehicle size and every application.

"The basis for our ‘ULTIMATE COMFORT’ is our new double roller suspension. It offers the perfect balance of maximum friction minimization and reduced play. No matter how uneven the surface, thanks to new suspension, automatic weight adjustment, and actively controlled damping, a wide variety of driver types can sit safely and comfortably in the Maximo XT2. In addition, its design is geared toward heavy multifunctional armrests and attachments that make everyday work easier."

Five different equipment variants, from entry-level to premium models, are available at market launch. They make the Maximo XT2 a high-end retrofit product that equips users ideally for the challenges of modern agriculture:

• Fully electric ten-way seat adjustment: height, fore/aft, backrest angle, seat cushion depth, and seat cushion angle adjustment. Ergonomically positioned, easy to reach, and intuitive to operate.

• Memory function: Get in and restore your individually selected seat settings at the touch of a button. Three memory slots.

• Ready for digitalization thanks to CAN bus connection: Settings and seat status can be operated/accessed via customer-specific vehicle displays.

• Massage system: A two-chamber system in the seat ensures movement in the pelvis and lumbar spine. Eight chambers in the backrest cushion massage the back muscles. This keeps drivers fit even during long periods of sitting, ensures relaxation, and reduces stress levels.

• Dualmotion backrest: The upper half of the backrest rotates when you look back over your shoulder. Ideal for tractors.

• Automatic weight adjustment: Not every rider is the same. The Maximo XT2 automatically adjusts the suspension perfectly for every body weight. This function can be switched off and the suspension can be individually adjusted depending on the riding situation and terrain.

• Active controlled damping: An electronically controlled shock absorber in the premium model ensures maximum suspension comfort and safety. Depending on the height position and acceleration, the shock absorber adjusts to the current driving conditions within a few milliseconds. The driver can adjust the system to their needs using a 3-position rocker switch in the armrest. 

• Adjustable side contours of the backrest: An easy-to-reach switch allows chambers in the backrest to be filled with air so that the upper body is kept stable when cornering or on side slopes.

• Multi-stage seat heating and seat climate control: State-of-the-art technology as in a car. Operated via buttons on the seat, with LED status display. 

• Integrated two-point belt systems: Securely hold the driver in the seat for maximum safety. Maximum comfort is guaranteed by the Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR), which only locks in an emergency, allowing the belt to give way during “normal” movements.
