The ZE150W wheeled excavator is an important part of this line-up as it is prototyping a new generation of electric-driven construction machinery. Instead of one central drivetrain, the machine has a de-centralised system for different functions. Consequently, it is equipped with advanced electric axles and a separate swing drive. This highly innovative concept increases the efficiency of the whole machine, which results in longer runtime.

In addition to the new drive concept, the model, which is based on the Hitachi ZX155W-7, is equipped with a powerful, high-capacity 300 kWh Li-Ion battery that ensures an extended runtime for demanding tasks in a zero-emission environment.

“The ZE150W with highly innovative drivetrain concept combines zero-emission performance with the versatility of a wheeled excavator, making it the perfect choice for urban construction projects and noise-sensitive environments,” says Harald Thum, KTEG Managing Director.

“Now is the perfect time to present our wide line-up of zero-emission machinery to the European construction industry as it seeks alternatives to traditional diesel engines in order to reduce CO2 emissions.”

This zero-emission machine has been developed by KTEG GmbH, the joint venture between Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd and Kiesel Technologie Entwicklung GmbH, in collaboration with Deutz.
