Zoomlion Acquires Ladurner: a Step Further into Global Environment Industry

Local time December 22, afternoon, the signing ceremony of Zoomlion’s acquisition of Italian Ladurner was held in Bolzano, a city of northeast Italy. Zoomlion’s chairman Zhan Chunxin, Lukas Ladurner, chairman  of the board  of directors  in Ladurner,  and Mandarin  Capital  Partners’ managing  partner Lorenzo Stanca, attended the ceremony.

A declaration that Zoomlion and Mandarin Capital Partners would team up to buy 75% stock equity of Ladurner  was already made in June, and this formal signing signifies the cooperative  relationship between Zoomlion and Ladurner has been really established. This is also an achievement of Zoomlion in its full convergence with international resources by ways of fusion-acquisition in the environment industry. Zoomlion goes a step further in integrating into the high-end industrial chain of the global environment industry after its success in the construction machinery industry.

Promoting transformation and upgrading of the environment industry is an important strategic measure taken by Zoomlion on the basis of its assessment of the economic situation and industry development.

As an industry leader with the biggest market share in Chinese sanitation machinery industry, the acquisition will help Zoomlion to manufacture more sophisticated equipment. More strategically, Zoomlion will speed up its transition from a sanitation equipment manufacturer to a comprehensive solution provider, investor and operator in the environment industry. A great-leap-forward development in the whole business will be achieved as the company will enter the global environment industry in areas of investment, equipment and operation.

Italian Ladurner is a leading provider，investor and operator of comprehensive solution on environment and renewable energy in Europe. It has great strength in designing, planning, consulting and supply chain integration, and invests and operates over 30 environmental projects in the world. Data shows that Ladurner has sewage treatment capacity of 10 million m3 per year, urban solid waste treatment capacity of 1 million tons per year, green electricity installed capacity of 100 MW, and land reclamation of 0.6 million m3 (1 million tons).

It is said that Zoomlion will increase its investment in the research and development of key equipment. Besides, cooperation will be conducted on anaerobic, aerobiotic and unique refuse-derived fuel (RDF) technologies based on demands of China’s environmental market with the aim to take advantage of Ladurner’s strength in environmental engineering and projects. These technologies are going to be applied to the treatment of food waste, sewage and sludge, as well as garbage sorting.
