bauma 2019 | Record bauma attracts more than 620,000 visitors
Klaus Dittrich, CEO and Chairman Messe München GmbH: "It has been a record bauma in every way. Not only from the area which has grown even larger, but also from the number of exhibitors. We also set a new visitor record with around 620,000 visitors. And all exhibitors have reported that they have received far more contracts than they expected. Digitalization can be seen in all its aspects. Not only at the presentation stands of the exhibitors, but above all in the machines. Digital control systems, connectivity between machines, networking on the construction site, a huge topic. And the topic of sustainability is very important. There are a lot of machines, excavators, even construction vehicles that operate purely electrically, or as hybrids. This is especially important for inner-city construction sites. But also in mining, it is important to test such equipment, and tremendous progress has been made in the last three years.Many exhibitors have participated in Think Big! This is an exhibition area where small training workshops have been set up, where trainees have informed young people and school leavers, what great training opportunities the construction machinery industry offers, in order to attract young talent to the industry.The global construction machinery industry is thriving. The order books are filled well into the next year. And so bauma has also given a huge economic impetus to the industry.“ Read full article
