Safety first for Hitachi excavators on motorway upgrade

Northern Irish company RB McGeary Contracts has been appointed as the main subcontractor for the work on the existing and new utilities (telephone, electricity and water) required to upgrade the A6. They have been selected due to their specialist skills and excellent safety management, in addition to their well-maintained Hitachi fleet. “There is an element of risk in our work, but we follow a safe working practice and run Hitachi zero-tail swing machines,” says owner of RB McGeary Contracts, Ronnie McGeary. “These are very precise and have, for example, motion sensors, flashing beacons and hose rupture valves.
