2 kinds of grass seeds succesfully in one pass

Vredo has developed a new option for the Sport Series. Now it should be equipped with the dual Depth/ Dosage System, in order to sow 2 kinds of grass seeds on different quantities and different seeding depths in one pass. Different seeds need different quantities and different depths.

Dual Depth/Dosage System

With the so called dual Depth/Dosage System (DDS) two kinds of grass seed quantities can be set separately by using two gearboxes (for every seed box one) That makes it possible to sow two kinds of grass in one pass. For example English Ryegrass (Lolium) and Common Meadow-grass (Poa Pratensis) English Rye grass is big and is germination by temperature. Poa Pratensis is much smaller and needs light to germinate

By sowing the Common Meadow-grass seperately from the English Ryegrass on the correct depth and in the right quantity in the soil, the Common Meadow-grass germinates quicker and increases in quantity. This makes a playing surface much stronger (more Rhizomes in root zone) and is longer lasting during wintertime.

The machine is equipped with an adjustable roller, with which the depth of the rear row of discs can be set.The front row is adjustable with the toplink (or front cilinder in the towed version ) English Ryegrass is sowed on 1cm depth. The discs cut to 1,5 cm deep. The optimal seed depth for Common Meadow-grass is 5/6 millimetres. This way both seeds are in the optimal depth where in particular Common Meadow-grass receives enough light to germinate rapidly.
