KLOIBER GmbH at Petershausen near Dachau, the largest container logistics company in Bavaria, is incorporating 50 new Kögel Mega semi-trailers and 15 Kögel Port 40 Simplex into its fleet. The new container chassis' will be used in the KLOIBER container depots in Munich and Augsburg. Kögel Mega – the volume semi-trailer

Kögel Mega semi-trailers with three metres of headroom internally are ideal for the Just-in-Time business requirements of the commercial vehicle industry. Thanks to the mechanical-hydraulic lifting roof which is fitted as standard, it is easy to load and unload three stacked pallet cages at a time. This increases the side and rear through-loading height to more than three metres. The Kögel integral roof tarpaulin with an opened roof guarantees improved handling and is also fitted as standard. Thanks to the roof straps integrated in the roof tarpaulin, sagging straps are a thing of the past. This eliminates the straps snagging on the load. Of course the Mega semi-trailers are also certified according to DIN EN 12642 Code XL and can be optionally equipped for use in the automotive industry according to Daimler guideline 9.5.

Kögel Port 40 Simplex – Container chassis with rear extension

A robust framework construction, a low tare weight from 5.1 tonnes, being user-friendly and flexible – all of these things make the Kögel Port 40 Simplex one of the most reliable and cost-effective means of transport for containers. The 15 new container chassis' which have been ordered are suitable for transporting a 20 foot container which is flush fitting to the rear with a retracted frame. If the rear extension is used, then a 40 Highcube container or two 20-foot containers will fit on. As an option, a Port 40 Simplex can also carry a 30 and 40 foot ISO container flush with the rear and a 20 foot container in the middle.

High quality corrosion protection

As with all Kögel vehicles for the forwarding industry, all the vehicle frames on the Kögel Mega and the Kögel Port 40 Simplex are permanently protected from corrosion by the nano-ceramics and cathodic dip-paint coating technology followed with UV paintwork.

"Their friendly attitude towards customers and the quality of their trailers are what really impress me at Kögel. With Just-in-Time logistics, we need to be able to rely 100 percent on the trailers, which is why we chose Kögel", says Ferdinand Kloiber, Managing Director of KLOIBER GmbH. "We are also extremely pleased with the Kögel container chassis' we have been using so far - our experiences and requests have been incorporated in the standard models which is why it was immediately obvious that as container handling is on the up again, we will continue to rely on the Kögel Port.

"Kloiber and Kögel are not only linked by each having almost 80 years of history, but also by their passion for transport", says Lars Kirchner, Head of Sales in Germany at Kögel. "We are very pleased to be able to make a positive contribution with our trailers towards the smooth-running logistics supply chain at KLOIBER".
