A variety of KUHN’s kit to be displayed at AgriScot

KUHN Farm Machinery will be displaying a selection of equipment from its grassland, livestock and arable ranges at this year’s AgriScot show, with the latest version of its film-on-film baler-wrapper combination amongst the machines being displayed at the event at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston on Wednesday 16thNovember.

The following KUHN machines, as well as a PROFILE trailed feed mixing wagon and POLY-LONGER hedgecutter, will be on display:

iBIO+ – baler/wrapper combination

The iBIO+ features KUHN’s new twin film-on-film wrapping system which offers reduced wrapping costs and easier plastic recycling. This unique film binding system uses two film reels to bind the cylindrical side of the bale and offers several advantages compared to other film binding systems, not least the ability to use standard sized rolls (25 µm, 1500 m, 750 mm) therefore eliminating the need to order separate binding and wrapping film. The KUHN system also boasts quicker and easier roll loading thanks to a user-friendly system which hydraulically folds the film reels into their loading/unloading position.

Bale wrapping is taken care of by KUHN’s IntelliWrap system which gives complete control of the wrapping process, allowing the operator to select the number of film layers and to adjust film overlap. The i-BIO+’s high-speed wrapping ring allows film to be applied at up to 50 revolutions per minute and produces well-shaped, tightly sealed bales for improved crop preservation.

PRIMOR 2060 M – mounted straw blower and all fodder feeder

The PRIMOR 2060 M straw blower and feeder boasts a 2m3 load capacity capable of holding a 1.80m diameter round bale or a 2.70m cubic bale.

Fitted as standard with KUHN’s POLYDRIVE system, the PRIMOR range can handle straw blowing and the feeding of all long-fibre fodders such as hay and haylage. The POLYDRIVE system uses a hydraulically disengageable belt drive to power the blowing independent turbine and 400 rpm feed rotor and is powerful enough to blow straw to a distance of 18 metres.

The PRIMOR 2060 M’s mounted design ensures easy handling and access in tight buildings, whilst its all-electric controls and multipurpose, swivelling delivery chute make it a truly user-friendly machine.

AXIS 40.2 M EMC – twin disc fertiliser spreader

The Axis 10.2 series of fertiliser spreaders sees several improvements being made to KUHN’s popular range of twin-disc mounted spreaders. Key improvements include increased hopper capacities and a redesigned chassis which offers up-rated payload capabilities. A new LED rear lighting system is also included.

The AXIS 40.2 M EMC will be on display at AgriScot. This machine boasts a 12 to 42 metre working width (up to 36m for granulated urea) and a hopper capacity of 3,200 litres.

The new spreaders are equipped with wear resistant VXR+ coated spreading pallets as standard and use KUHN’s CDA (Coaxial Distribution Adjustment) system for accurate spreading at high speeds.

The Axis 10.2 series also uses KUHN’s EMC (Electronic Mass Control) technology to meter fertiliser flow, and all machines in the range are equipped with KUHN’s Varispread (VS) variable working width technology as standard.

LEXIS – 3,000 litre trailed sprayer

The new LEXIS 3000 has been designed as a lower cost, simpler sprayer, but one which still offers the same efficiency and ease of use as KUHN’s high end models such as the METRIS and OCEANIS.

The new machine is fitted with a 3,000 litre polyethylene tank (actual capacity is 3,150 litres) and a 320 litre rinsing tank, and is available with MTA2, MEA2, RHPM and RHPA folding aluminium booms ranging from 18 to 24 metres in width. TRAPEZIA or EQUILIBRA suspension systems maintain a stable spraying height on rough terrain while an independent anti-whiplash system protects the boom from damage during sudden bRaking and acceleration.

The LEXIS features KUHN’s MANUSET valve system which uses two ‘steering wheel’ type valves to control the machine’s main spraying and flushing circuits and requires 30-50% fewer valve operations compared to many competitor machines. A centralised maintenance area provides easy access to key filling, suction and bowl filters as well as the spraying pump for easier and quicker machine maintenance. Two sealed storage units provide a safe, clean and secure place to store essential Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The LEXIS can be controlled via RPB or REB3 control boxes and can also be used with KUHN’s full-colour VISIOREB terminal which provides full set-up control and enables automatic, GPS controlled section cut-offs to be programmed.

The LEXIS 3000 has a hitch to axle length of 4.05m and an overall width of 2.23m. When fitted with standard 9.5 x 48 tyres (other tyre sizes are available) the sprayer has a transport height of 3.08m (18m boom) or 3.50m (24m boom). The 24m version has an unladen weight of 2,057kg.
